We’re Love & Power. We’re a feminist* community of people working together to build the power needed to dismantle sexism
* What is feminism?
“Simply put, feminism is a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression”
- bell hooks
We like this definition because it names sexism as a system - that everyone is hurt by, and anyone can contribute to. We believe the only way of changing a system is to come together.
We come together to organise ourselves, our money and our relationships to build our collective power. We aren’t outnumbered, we are just out organised.
Love & Power is a UK-based network of feminists from all walks of life, from all over the country. We’re coming together in our communities to build power and figure out what we can do together to create change.
So, how do we win change?
We know that lots of folks are already doing plenty to make the world better. Right now, this very second - women are acting to build community, make change in their professional lives, care for others, bring up great people, and make sure their loved ones get home safe.

Our skills and efforts keep the world turning, but what if instead of dealing with the symptoms we could change the systems that hurt and frustrate us?
Real and lasting change
This is where Love and Power comes in. We know that groups achieving real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective. We train people to sharpen the skills they already have - ones that have been historically discouraged. Ones that you might have flexed, only to be called bossy, gobby, too ambitious, shrill, or self-important. We build relationships with other feminists. And then we work together to do a power analysis, build a strategy, act, negotiate, and win change.
This may be the first time you have thought much about feminism, or you may be a seasoned activist - whatever your background, what we have in common is that we want to work together to build a world that’s more joyful and less sexist.

People have done it before and we can do it again. Read through this website to learn how.
Our Directors
Charlotte Fischer & Martha Jephcott
We want Love & Power to be a place that gives people a sense of possibility of the power and beauty that ordinary people can have if they work together.
We build Love & Power particularly in the honour of people we know for whom this would have been revolutionary - people like our families, who came to this country as refugees or were single-parent families after leaving an abusive relationship.
